On the difference between silica and plastic
There are things in the world, called silica, and there are plastics. The nature of the two is very different.
Silica is naturally made, honed over time, and exists between mountains and rivers. Its quality is firm and hard, the color is often plain, or white or gray, and it has a natural texture, which cannot be easily changed by human labor. Its chemical stability, temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, fire cannot melt, water cannot rot, and it has outstanding functions in construction and metallurgy.
In contrast, plastics are man-made synthetic things. According to human wishes, they can be molded into various shapes, with brilliant colors and endless changes. However, its properties are different from silica, and it is easy to soften when heated. It can even be melted into a liquid, and it will burn in case of fire. It is not durable, the years change slightly, or it will age and crack.
And silica is an inorganic substance, which originates from natural creation; plastics are mostly genus of hydrocarbons, which are polymerized by chemical methods. Silica is ecological, harmless and can follow the laws of nature; plastics are not.
